HERE ARE MY TOP 5 BEST LIP BALMS FOR WINTER -BELIEVE ME, I’VE TRIED ALMOST EVERYTHING-

ph via Glossier

I gotta be honest, I used to be one of those girls that would swear by Vaseline as a “must have” lip product, but it’s only recently that I realised that in fact, Vaseline was doing the opposite of what I wanted (specially during the Winter). Vaseline is great to create an impenetrable layer, but it doesn’t moisturise. My point being, I love using Vaseline on my lips in the Summer, but during Winter, adding Vaseline to your -probably already dry lips- can result in them getting even drier and that’s because Vaseline creates a layer over your lips and gives them that glossy look, but underneath it all, your lips are still dry. Regardless, I still like using it during the Summer, but for the cold Winter months, I have put a lot of lip moisturisers to the test and I’m finally able to bring you MY TOP 5 “You cannot leave without”. Curious? Keep on reading then…

1 Glossier Balm Dot Com

And oh boy, do I love these balms. I know that this is the quintessential Millennial cult brand and I don’t want to share this to be a part of the “cool kids” club, but man, this product is the BOMB. I have tried a few Glossier products, some I like, some not so much but when it comes to the Balm Dot Com, I am truly converted. I went through a period where I was buying the packs of three, just so I could have one in each purse, so I would never go without. I have chilled out since then, but honestly, these lips balms are game changers. They have amazing texture, they last quite a long while on your lips, they don’t dry your lips out and best of all, they smell amazing!

They have a total of 8 flavours (scents) BUT my absolute favourites are: MANGO, COCONUT, CHERRY and PEACH. I still have to try a couple of flavours but for now, if you have to choose just one, go for the MANGO ;)

2 DIOR Lip Sugar Scrub

This product came to my life by chance and I haven’t looked back ever since. When it comes to quality beauty products, often the price isn’t an indicator of whether something is good or not. What I mean is that you can pay a lot for a “designer” brand beauty product and it can still be, well, shit. This lip scrub is anything but, in fact, it’s pretty amazing. This is basically a lip moisturiser and a scrub in one product, but what I love the most about it, is the creaminess of the texture and the fact that it lasts for a long time, but not only that, but it helps get rid of chapped skin with the micro sugar scrub particles.

3 LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask

This sleeping mask is my holy grail of lip moisturisers, UNDOUBTEDLY. I bought it at Sephora in Miami 2 years ago and I have used it every night ever since (still haven’t finished it so it also lasts quite long). This sleeping mask is super thick and creamy, it lasts ALL night and makes your lips feel so soft the next morning. I highly, HIGHLY recommend it!

4 Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm

Burt’s Bees is your trusty lip balm, one which you know will definitely keep you lips hydrated, but let me tell you something; their tinted lip balms are NEXT LEVEL. Not only will they keep your lips hydrated, but their tint enhance the colour of your lips to infinity and beyond!

5 Carmex

And last but not least, we can’t close this top 5 without mentioning Carmex, the quintessential lip balm that works like no other. This lip balm is not the fanciest and it doesn’t have the prettiest packaging but you better believe it works! My favourite Carmex is the strawberry scent and it’s always in my bag.

  1. I have heard good things about the last 3 products (lip balms) but I am going to say that the one I have used (thanks to a video/vlog you shared on YouTube a long while ago, guess it was from when you were in Miami) was the Burt’s Bees one, I noted it down and I was looking for it but never found it until this year I saw it and didn’t think twice to get it. I have got to say that it’s the best lip balm I have ever tried on, best thing is I haven’t had to exfoliate my lips ever since and they always feel hydrated plus it’s my go-to whenever I don’t feel like wearing a lipstick. It’s my favorite, but I am still very curious to try the one from Laneige! :)

  2. I’ve tried number 2 and I was gifted of number 3 even if I haven’t tried it yet. The one always with me is the Labrosan, the one in the blue packaging. I’m actually putting it on my lips in this exact moment :D
