MY TOP 3 FOUNDATIONS THAT ACTUALLY LAST & DON’T MAKE MY SKIN OILY.

1. Armani Maestro Foundation
2. Dior Nude Air Foundation
3. NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint

When it comes to foundations, I have tried everything under the sun, I mean it. I was pretty hooked with MAC for a while, but then I realised it was making my skin really oily, so I stopped using it.
I think I have combination skin, at least during the hot months, so I am always on the lookout for moisturisers and foundations that won’t make me look like a light bulb.

There is nothing worse than a foundation that goes sticky and shiny after a few hours of wear, so after testing A LOT of them, I narrowed it down to these three. However, every skin is different, but these are my top recommendations for you according to what works best on my skin.

  1. Armani Maestro: It’s the lightest coverage of the three I think. When you apply, it immediately starts feeling like powder, so it doesn’t make my skin feel oily and look shiny. Its not heavy coverage so its perfect for the day if you want to try the “no makeup” makeup look. If you are looking for something more heavy in terms of coverage this is not the one for you, unless you layer it.
  2. DIOR Nude Air: I LOVE this foundation, not only because it feels so light, but it has enough coverage and it makes my skin feel great. I use number 020 “light beige”, just for reference. Again, this one isn’t a heavy coverage foundation either but I think it is definitely heavier than Armani Maestro. I would categorise it in the middle when it comes to coverage -of the three mentioned-.
  3. NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint: This is the foundation I have been using for the past 8 months (although I sometimes switch with Armani or Dior, depending on the coverage I want). This one has the heaviest coverage of the three, but it still feels rather light on my skin. I love NARS foundations because they are supposed to be applied with your fingers, so it feels like I am applying moisturiser. It not only feels great on my skin, but it also lasts, which is why I would give this foundation top marks!

Do you know of any other foundations I should try out? I am always open for suggestions!

  1. I have tried a couple of tints and lately have been using the nars matte tint daily, however I still find I get very oily in my T zone. Any other suggestions?

  2. i really like the nars. it’s really great on my skin too and i got oily skin too on my t-zone. you should try the kat von d lock it foundation.

  3. You should try fenty beauty’s foundation! It is good (it is middle/high coverage, depend how much you use it) I was surprised that this foundation keep all day. Before I used only Armani but I think that fenty is best for me.

  4. I love mineral foundation because it doesn’t harm the skin in any way. It has no irritating ingredients, so it’s great to use on the most sensitive skin. I am currently using the mineral powder foundation from Mineralissima. It only contains a few ingredients and I love it!

  5. Hi Andy! I love That Dior foundation as well is one of the best I haba tried so far. Maybe you could tryCharlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation it has pretty good coverage. :)!

      1. They do sell Charlottle Tillbury at the Bijenkorf, she does really nice makeup. I would also recommend trying the Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation (japanese brand), it is BOMB! Altough this one you can only find at Sephora US.

    1. I got that in UK and I swear by it! Fantastic coverage for skin with beige undertones (like mine) but light and natural at the same time.
