Being in paradise does come close to my days down at Key West last week. I still remember the first time I went there a gazillion years ago, yet this time was totally different. I arrived at The Gates Hotel at about 9:00 p.m after two flights and a 3 hour car ride from Miami down on one of the most beautiful highways I have ever driven down on. I guess I should have been tired beyond words, considering I didn’t sleep one bit during my flights, but I couldn’t keep my eyes off the landscapes around. I am not sure how familiar you are with the Florida Keys, but the road down from Miami basically consists of an Archipelago of Islands and a narrow highway that goes all the way down to Key West, across long bridges over the ocean, absolutely breathtaking!

When I got to my beautiful room, all I wanted to do was unpack, go to sleep and set my alarm bright an early to jump in the pool first thing in the morning. The days that followed consisted of swimming, drinking amazing cocktails from the Rum Row, discovering the island and eating the most incredible food.
Countless adventures which I tried my best to document in photographs, but I guess you have to see it to believe it, so if you are ever in doubt of where to go on Holiday, remember Key West! The Gates hotel was not only an amazing place for me to stay, but they also have the loveliest staff, an awesome Rum Bar and very soon they will be opening the coolest food truck which I already had a small taste of and believe me, you don’t want to miss their food!
