I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I said that it was a dream come true to walk down the corridors of the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. I guess its hard to explain the feeling you get when you are there, specially when you are from a completely different culture, a completely different part of the world. It is basically a market, but the experience of being there was truly special for me. Colors everywhere, people, scents, call to prayer chants echoing on the walls of the hallways, gave me chills, made me feel like I was a part of something different, no matter your religion or beliefs, it was very special. I will never forget this visit and I somehow wish I could have captured these feelings better, on the photos or in this text.

    Thank you, Andy.

  5. Amazing photos, it looks like completely different world; all those lamps, plates and fabrics, they all look as if they were taken out of some fairytale. I also find this culture really fascinating; I feel that the countries which are part of the western civilisation all seem pretty much the same – apart from minor differences, they all develop in the same direction I think. If you go to Europe or the States you find a mix of cultures and people don’t differ that much. But when it comes to the East, it’s a whole different story. People there pay much more attention to the tradition and that makes those countries so alluring in my opinion. It looks like time has stopped for them. Anyway, I’m glad you were able to see Istanbul, I’d love to go there too. http://stylestandpoint.com

  9. This post is really different from your usual outfit posts and I appreciate the change as it presents another side of you, something apart from fashion (which I love, don’t get me wrong). It’s silly but I guess people tend to forget that fashion bloggers also do have interests not entirely connected to fashion, which is clearly visible in this post and you writing about exploring different cultures. So thank you for that as I have slowly begun to doubt in some fashion bloggers and their ability to see beyond the fashion consuming their lives.
And, as I’ve promised to share this, if you have time I encourage you to visit and start the 100happydays challenge: http://100happydays.com :)
Seeing as you are a very positive person but also quite busy, I guess, it could never hurt to focus some more on the happy part of each day. ;)
