HOW TO BRING VELVET INTO YOUR HOME DECOR

velvetdecor2 velvetdecor
While I was in LA, I entered an amazing Home Decor store that had the most beautiful dark navy velvet chairs and a turquoise velvet couch. They had it all set up in a very minimalistic way, with some touches of glass, a tad of gold candle accessories and white marble. I am feeling the velvet trend lately, although I have to admit it might not be the most practical of choices as it can stain very quickly, but it just look so cool!
I would go for very minimal decor, probably an all white room with black and white prints on the walls with some dashes of colour. I just need to find the perfect couch in the perfect colour, not too girly and not too cheesy, just right…I gathered a ton of inspo on Pinterest if you are onto the same trend, so let the search begin!

How do you feel about the velvet trend in home decor?

  1. Andy, you have treatments for fabrics that you can dump water or wine in the fabric and the treatment protects the fibers of the tissue. In my country the name is waterproofing. and then, you can use velvet or everything you want ’cause it really works.

  2. Beautiful inspiration!
The pairing of velvet with minimalist furniture would be stunning! I do like the idea of having the colored velvet couch be the focal point of the room with touches of black and white everywhere else. I especially love the pop of color that goldenrod velvet couch gives!
Velvet can be a pain to clean, but here’s a great how-to if you do accidentally spill something on your velvet couch and want to prevent stains! http://bit.ly/1OBVd3k
    Great post!

  3. I LOVE THIS! I actually just ordered a dusty blue velvet duvet from West Elm for my bedroom. but those couches…I absolutely love my vintage Victorian velvet couch I have in my living room but would totally love a plush tufted and overstuffed one!
